Historic Blue Ridge Parkway Tour

Driving with the Lim family and friends for a 100 plus mile tour of the Parkway. We began with Brinegars Cabin at milepost 238.8. The site is a wonderful example of Appalachian farm life in the later half of the 19th century into the early 20th century. We looked down upon the site of the Caudill Cabin, the only Basin Cove Community home to survive the massive storm of 1916 in Western North Carolina. We ended the day at Mt. Mitchell State Park at mile post 355. It is the tallest peak, at 6684 feet, east of the Mississippi River. The sunset was spectacular.
